"We create spaces where art becomes visible and support emerging artists through exhibitions, discussions, and limited-edition prints. Supported by a genuine community."
mission
a[r]telierfünf sees itself as an open platform for young, emerging artists and combines contemporary exhibition practice with an online shop. Our mission is to make art accessible to as many people as possible and to break down barriers – both when entering exhibition spaces and when buying art.
Many people, especially young people, are interested in contemporary art but feel excluded from the traditional art market. a[r]telierfünf addresses this: Through regularly held solo and group exhibitions, we create spaces where art can be experienced without prior knowledge and shared through direct exchange. Personal contact between artists and the public is central and enables open access.
We want to support artists who tell stories, amplify marginalized voices, and address social and political issues. We understand art as a mirror of society, connected to power structures and social realities. Especially in times of political instrumentalization, we want to safeguard spaces where artistic freedom, dissent, and reflection remain possible.
Following the exhibitions, selected works will be offered as high-quality poster reproductions, limited to 50 copies, in our online shop. This makes art accessible without having to enter the traditional art market, and gives artists visibility beyond the opening. Production is deliberately based in Vienna to strengthen local structures. The limited edition reflects a responsible use of resources, protects the artists' work from devaluation, and promotes sustainable access to art.
a[r]telierfünf aims to establish itself as a locally rooted platform that embodies openness, diversity, and community. We understand art as a unifying element that brings people together regardless of origin or education and, in the long term, fosters a more inclusive understanding of art and art acquisition.
about Us
a[r]telierfünf was founded in December 2026 as an initiative of two friends. Their shared exploration of art, exhibition formats, and the art market led to the desire to create a community that would showcase the work of young, unknown artists and open up new avenues to contemporary art. Friendship and continuous exchange form the basis of a project built on collaboration, openness, and mutual trust.
Fabian is the founder of a[r]telierfünf and combines creative ideas with entrepreneurial thinking. He is responsible for building and developing the online shop, designing sales formats, and coordinating all processes related to pricing, sales, and distribution of the artwork. He also brings in-depth knowledge of marketing, social media, design, and digital communication. Fabian himself is a photographer, working both with analog and digital media.
Clara is a co-founder of a[r]telierfünf and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Art and Cultural Management. She brings her particular interest in contemporary exhibition practice to the project. With a Bachelor's degree in Art History, she possesses a solid theoretical understanding of art, exhibition formats, and art historical contexts. Through a[r]telierfünf, she is gaining her first comprehensive practical experience in the conception and organization of exhibitions, guiding projects from ideation to realization and working closely with the participating artists. In doing so, she is deepening her knowledge of project organization, scheduling, communication, and outreach, increasingly connecting her theoretical knowledge with practical application.
